Unbelievable, but I am still getting comments from UNKNOWN! Oh well....... I give up on that 😬

It is now December 1st! Wow, I can't believe it! I have been a full timer for 5 months now and still loving it. I am still in southern Nevada and will be until mid January. I will then start to do some moving around.

I have been doing some exploring, hiking, etc......

Made a trip out to Red Rock Canyon, just outside of Las Vegas. It was an awesome day! Took the scenic drive and stopped all along the way doing some hiking. The scenery is amazing out there.

This was 1/2 mile into a 4 mile hike....
This was 1/2 mile into a 4 mile hike....Took the La Madre route
A view looking back down the trail, going was all uphill (as usual)
This was another trail later that day, a few more miles!

Met some interesting people and enjoyed the hikes.

The next big adventure was to Death Valley....another great day!! Checked out a few different places in the park, it's a huge park. Finally stopped and hiked to the top of the tallest dune out in Mesquite Dunes. It was a great workout, really enjoyed it!

Arrow points to tallest dune, made it to the top!

I love the dunes!

Hard to tell in the picture but the path to the top goes along a razor back dune on both sides, a little scary but on the bright side, it would be a soft landing if you fall off either side! 😂
Made it to the top!!
The next stop was where the 20 mule teams brought the minerals dug up to the Borax works. Very cool!

The next stop (last stop, hate these short days!) was to a lookout. A small hike up a steep hill. The pictures don't do the views justice!!

And here you have the TYPICAL tourist that has to go off the beaten path for that ultimate picture! 😒 News at 11.....

Anyway that brings you mostly up to date. These were the bigger experiances since I've been here. Will post another update in a month or two! Stay safe everybody!!

My last blog update I was at the Elks Lodge in Provo Utah. They are awesome people there!! They supported me through a very stressful time (family emergency). I made lifetime friends there and they are like family to me.

I managed to get a hike at bridal veil falls in. It was a beautiful day and a great hike. Pics below...

My last weekend there we had a small smoked bbq in the parking lot, and then as hard as it was to do, I had to leave and start heading south to find my winter spot. Pics below......

Bridal Veil Falls

So pretty with the fall colors
These guys were putting up a retaining fence on the side of the mountain, it was crazy to watch! Zoom in on the picture, the guys are a ways above lift! And rocks were falling as they worked.

We shucked a bunch of oysters! Smoked some too on the smoker! Yummy!
Played pigs (haven't played this in many years) this is the senior edition, so you can see the pigs!! Haha!!

After I left Provo I headed to Fishlake National Forest. I needed some time to unwind, de-stress, relax. I found an awesome place tucked away off a gravel road. I went on a few nice hikes. One was to a historical ranger station, it was pretty cool....

This was my view from my door!
This was the view from the other side of my trailer
My camp spot...the propane bottle goes to a heater inside....when the sun went down temps dropped! In the mornings it was in the 20's or low 30's and then would warm up to low 70's perfect weather!!
One of my hikes, trail followed a creek that went up and up and up!
View from way up top! Pic doesn't do it justice.
The following pics are the historical ranger station....
This was their refrigerator....

This is where their house was.

This was another hike way up.....
This is zoomed in, that's my trailer down there :-)

On my last night there some people pulled in next to me. When I saw the people I thought, hey I know them!! They are some friends from Colorado heading to Salton City, Beth and Eric! What a small world being in the middle of nowhere and running into people you know!!

After a week there I hit the road to St. George Utah to scout out a winter spot. I stayed at the Elks Lodge there. I went the next day and checked out several campgrounds. The one I had my eye on was unfortunately a dump!! And the rest weren't much better. The nicer ones were all full and expensive. I was very disappointed to say the least. So back to the drawing board to find another place.
I spent most of the day trying to find something in other nearby towns, but everything was already full. I finally stumbled onto a place in Pahrump Nv. They are first come first serve. So I high-tailed it down there the next morning and I actually got a spot!!
Pahrump is 1 hour from Vegas, Red Rock, Death Valley....weather is pretty good too. I am hoping to stay here for a few months.
I will be taking it easy and doing some exploring. Stay tuned for my next update!
Stay well everybody!!
