My last blog update I was at the Elks Lodge in Provo Utah. They are awesome people there!! They supported me through a very stressful time (family emergency). I made lifetime friends there and they are like family to me.

I managed to get a hike at bridal veil falls in. It was a beautiful day and a great hike. Pics below...

My last weekend there we had a small smoked bbq in the parking lot, and then as hard as it was to do, I had to leave and start heading south to find my winter spot. Pics below......

Bridal Veil Falls

So pretty with the fall colors
These guys were putting up a retaining fence on the side of the mountain, it was crazy to watch! Zoom in on the picture, the guys are a ways above lift! And rocks were falling as they worked.

We shucked a bunch of oysters! Smoked some too on the smoker! Yummy!
Played pigs (haven't played this in many years) this is the senior edition, so you can see the pigs!! Haha!!

After I left Provo I headed to Fishlake National Forest. I needed some time to unwind, de-stress, relax. I found an awesome place tucked away off a gravel road. I went on a few nice hikes. One was to a historical ranger station, it was pretty cool....

This was my view from my door!
This was the view from the other side of my trailer
My camp spot...the propane bottle goes to a heater inside....when the sun went down temps dropped! In the mornings it was in the 20's or low 30's and then would warm up to low 70's perfect weather!!
One of my hikes, trail followed a creek that went up and up and up!
View from way up top! Pic doesn't do it justice.
The following pics are the historical ranger station....
This was their refrigerator....

This is where their house was.

This was another hike way up.....
This is zoomed in, that's my trailer down there :-)

On my last night there some people pulled in next to me. When I saw the people I thought, hey I know them!! They are some friends from Colorado heading to Salton City, Beth and Eric! What a small world being in the middle of nowhere and running into people you know!!

After a week there I hit the road to St. George Utah to scout out a winter spot. I stayed at the Elks Lodge there. I went the next day and checked out several campgrounds. The one I had my eye on was unfortunately a dump!! And the rest weren't much better. The nicer ones were all full and expensive. I was very disappointed to say the least. So back to the drawing board to find another place.
I spent most of the day trying to find something in other nearby towns, but everything was already full. I finally stumbled onto a place in Pahrump Nv. They are first come first serve. So I high-tailed it down there the next morning and I actually got a spot!!
Pahrump is 1 hour from Vegas, Red Rock, Death Valley....weather is pretty good too. I am hoping to stay here for a few months.
I will be taking it easy and doing some exploring. Stay tuned for my next update!
Stay well everybody!!

I know it's been a while since my last update. I have been very busy and I also have been without any hookups. In other words kinda livin off the grid, so wasn't able to keep my laptop charged.

Anyway, I spent a month in Texas taking care of some things and spending time with my daughter. It was a good time! The following are pictures from the month there:

My bday breakfast!
They we delish!!

Winery

Once I left Texas I pretty much headed straight up to Colorado. It was just too hot otherwise. My second night on the road landed me in New Mexico (Albuquerque). New Mexico was not wanting any out of state people camping there so I spent the night in a truck stop. Trucks pulled in on either side of me for the night. The next morning one truck was so close to me I couldn't get out of the trailer! So I had to climb out the back window, luckily it's an emergency exit! Whether he did it on purpose or not, who cares, it didn't stop me! Hahaha!!

I continued on to Durango, Co where I spent 10 days. Went sightseeing, hiking, and met up with long time friends from Salton City. It was a good time.

Picture of poop is fresh bear poop on my hiking trail! Some of the pictures are from Mesa Verde National Park where the cliff dwellers lived, really cool to see! Some are in Durango, cool town, and some are where I was camping, bambi came right to my door to visit.

WTH?

Mike and Lonnie!!

This rock was hanging on the edge

From Durango I headed to the area of Monticello, Utah. First place I camped was at 8400' in the forest. It was really nice and the deer, cows and turkeys were all over. I really liked it but was not getting enough solar. I actually had to fire up my generator for the first time in years! I hate using the generator! So after a week there I moved to another place with no trees to block my solar. I was going to stay for 2 weeks before I was going to move to Moab. I again went sightseeing to Canyon Lands National Park, did lots of hiking, and met up with some more long time friends from Salton City. I also weathered sleet/ice storm, and an actual day of mostly snow and rain!

Leon and Hilda (and grandaughter)!!

Rough life.....

Hmm X marks the spot?
Church Rock

Hiking....

Really cool hike, had to come down 2 ladders
Very old cowboy camp

The Needles!

Just love the rock formations and scenery!

Another hike at Lloyds's Lake

And so just shy of being in Utah for 2 weeks I had a family emergency. So my life has been on hold for the last 3 weeks. Things are slowly going back to "normal". I am getting on the road in a few days and will be scouting out a place to hang for the winter.

Stay tuned for the next update.....hope everybody is well!
