Unbelievable, but I am still getting comments from UNKNOWN! Oh well....... I give up on that 😬
Hello All!
Lots to catch up on......so.....spent most of December doing projects. Biggest project was a ceiling fan. Everything that came in this trailer are all good quality. So not sure why they put this really crappy ceiling fan in that is really loud and doesn't move any air! I settled on the Maxxair which I have had before in a previous trailer. They are very quiet and work great! It was pretty unnerving pulling out the old fan and seeing this huge hole in my roof. It was actually an easy project. The new fan fit right in without having to make any modifications and it works great!
I also worked on re-organizing. I am now addicted to Command hooks and stick ons!!
I then decided to upgrade my solar controller since I had already added an extra panel a few months before. I now have 380 watts on the roof. The existing one was just a very basic 30 amp PWM controller. I upgraded to a Renogy 40 amp MPPT with bluetooth so I can monitor my solar from my phone. It's also a bit more efficient.
Then we headed to the lowest point in America! 282 feet below sea level!
Sea level was way (282 feet) above us!
Then we headed to Natural Bridge Canyon. Another really cool site!!
From there we headed to a trail head. We had planned to do a 6 mile loop, but we ran out of time. We did hike about half of it before we had to head back......
Wish we had had time to keep going.
We did the red loop.....
It was a great hike....super scenic....
A great hike until I took a fall......I sprained or strained my knee. But I'm a trooper and hiked the rest of the 3.5 miles to complete the loop.
We then headed to the campground for the night. We stayed in my sisters camper van (Lulu), it was pretty cozy! LOL!
The next day we headed to another trail head. My knee was pretty sore but after I popped some pain meds we hit the trail.
It was another great trip! We then headed back to "home base" to prepare for our departure south....
We did a day trip to Oatman, fun little town....
They were trying to put on a shootout show but the Burros came strolling in and stole the show!!
Ran into some Hooligans!! Good to see my friends!
With my knee feeling better.....The next day we went for a hike in Sara Park. What a great place!! We went in Sara's Crack with no idea what we were in for!!
This is the beginning of Sara's Crack. It's a canyon!
The further in we went the more narrow it got!
Then we had to repel down this!
And climb down many other rock falls....
We even had to climb down ladders!
This was getting way out of my comfort zone when we met these kids who had been here before and told us we were almost at the end, so on we went.......
And finally emerged on the other side! The canyon was a little scary but it was incredible!!!
A few more miles down the trail we reached Lake Havasu!! Another awesome sight!
We took a different trail back....
After the hike we headed to the London Bridge
Edith Ann? LOL!
Another great few days!! Time to prep and head to Quartzsite.....
Next day it was off to the swap meet!
Gotta go to Beer Belly's!!
Glad to hear from you and all your great adventures. Take care of the knee. I am sure you will have fun in South Dakota I know we did when we were there. Lots to see. Take care safe travels. Let us know when you come thru Fallon would love to see you.
